OPERA – DEVELOPMENT WORK
An established performer of contemporary repertoire,
Clare has worked with OperaGenesis
developing new operas at the Royal Opera House,
including Sea of Souls (choreographer Ron Howell
/ composer Yuko Katori), Bird of Night
and Intimations of Solitude (Dominique LeGendre),
Letters of a Love Betrayed (Eleanor Alberga).
Other development work includes Eleanor in
Eleanor of Acquitaine (Graham Coatman),
and Léo in Les Parents Terribles (Anthony
Feldman). CONTEMPORARY MUSIC
Clare's 2007 recital at the Royal Opera House featured
the London premiere of “Transport
to Summer” song cycle by Russell
Platt (2006 Aaron Copeland Award for Composition)
and world premiere of Farfalle di Neve,
a commission by Stephen
McNeff for mezzo-soprano and string trio.
In 2009 she will premiere Madrigali dell'Estate,
McNeff's new song cycle setting lyrics
by Gabriele d'Annunzio, in the Royal Opera House's
Lunchtime Recital Series. Clare will be
a resident Artist at Presteigne Festival 2010,
where she will premiere works written for her
by Stephen McNeff, Hugh Wood and Alexander
L'Estrange, and existing chamber music by
Nicholas Maw.
Solo concert/recording work with Sinfonietta Voices
including Birtwistle’s …agm…
and Berio’s Coro, with Esa-Pekka
Salonen and Diego Masson. ORATORIO

Oratorio work as alto soloist with national choirs
